FitHAUS Featured Athlete ... Kenny Munn

This week's Featured Athlete is Kenny Munn! Kenny is someone that ALWAYS seems to be excited about working out ... no matter what the WOD is! His enthusiasm is contagious and so fun to be around! He will cheer you on and push you ... and he's always ready with a smile and fist bump when the workout ends. You'll find him at the gym nearly every day of the week ... usually before the sun rises in the 5:30am class! Fun Fact: Kenny has attended 131 classes since THIS June! So thankful to have your energy and awesome attitude here at FitHAUS, Kenny! It's hard to imagine that there was ever a time that Kenny DIDN'T CrossFit!!

We asked Kenny some questions to get to know him a little better. Read on to learn more ...

FH: Tell us a little bit about yourself (something that we may not know...kids, job, college, other hobbies or interests, etc)?

KM: Michelle and I have 3 kids, Tatum (13) Makai (11) and Teagan (6) and a dog named Jax! I work at Aramark as an Operations Manager and have been there for 21 years. My hobbies are CrossFit, talking about CrossFit and thinking about CrossFit. But also attending our kids sports activities, going out to eat, watching Dateline with Michelle and texting with a couple of idiots (Jason Sinning and Katie Klug).

FH: What made you join FitHAUS and what were you doing prior to coming in?

KM: We had always heard good things about FitHaus from the Klugs who used to live two doors down from us. Prior to FitHaus we were CrossFitting at My Town in Hamel. Prior to that we had not really been working out, always seemed like that stuff was for other people.

FH: What is your favorite thing about FitHAUS?

KM: My favorite part of FitHaus is the community of people! No matter what class you attend everyone is friendly, goofy and always working hard! That’s probably my favorite part....no matter if you Rx or scale everyone works their butt off and everyone cheers for everyone!

FH: What are some of the accomplishments related to physical fitness that you are most proud of. Do you have any fitness goals?

KM: I don’t really have any one thing that I’m most proud of, I just love everything about CrossFit! The friendships, the variety, the pain and the ability to keep doing it. I’d like to be able to HS walk but I’m too scared I’ll break my neck and not be able to CrossFit.

FH: How has being physically active bettered your life outside of the gym?

KM: As an addict, fitness has been extremely instrumental in keeping me healthy in many ways. It’s also allows for me to lead by example with our kids. Only thing better than doing a wod is watching our kids do it.

FH: What is your favorite class or movement/skill? What is your least favorite movement...like the one that causes the biggest eye roll when your coach says we are doing "X" today;)

KM: I like all the movements, I’ve really come to love all the barbell cardio WODS as I use to be extremely intimidated with weightlifting. Overhead squats and the Nancy wod are probably my favorites.

FH: What advice would you give to someone looking to join FITHAUS?

KM: Just show up! Everyone started in the same place, it’s always nerve wracking when first starting something new like this. But the members and staff at FitHaus will make you feel comfortable. It doesn’t matter if you can’t do a pull up, push up or sit up or whatever, that’s why you come to a place like FitHaus.

Thanks for being part of this community, Kenny!!
