This week we are happy to announce Anita Karinimi as our FitHAUS featured Athlete. Anita has been a FitHAUS member since 2017 and has attended almost 400 classes. Anita is a great example of a busy mama who makes fitness a priority. Aside from working as a registered nurse and being a mom to her 5 children, you will find Anita at nearly every 1030 class we offer. Anita is a CrossFitter at heart, but she loves moving in new ways...especially when Amanda is making her do something crazy in Static Dynamic;). Anita is always smiling and bringing great energy to every class she is in…we think it could have something to do with the fact that she’s always got her adorable side kick Gracie with her. Anita, we are so proud of how dedicated you are to staying physically fit and active. You are a superwoman in our mind! Thank you for choosing FitHAUS!
1. Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I grew up in cave creek, Arizona, north of Scottsdale. I’ma desert girl in my soul and love nothing more than the wide-open desert sky.I’ve been a nurse for 13 years, I have 4 boys, one girl and a baby girl on the way! Our favorite vacation spot is San Clemente, CA where we go every summer with family.
2. What made you decide to join FitHAUS? What were you doing prior to coming to FH?
We moved from CaveCreek 2.5 years ago, in AZ I had done CrossFit for 4 years, and was looking fora gym where I felt the same community aspect of my gym in AZ, and FitHAUS was the only gym I would consider in the area!
3. What is your favorite thing about FitHAUS?
My favorite thing is the people of course! I get to leave any stress behind for an hour, and feel good in body and mind when I leave.
4. What are some of the accomplishments related to physical fitness that you are most proud of. Do you have any fitness goals moving forward?
Sooo many goals! I would love after this baby sister joins us to get back to pull ups and pistols!
5. How had FitHAUS, or being physically active bettered your life outside of the gym?
CrossFit and all of the classes help my life in infinite ways outside of the gym, from lifting bags of salt and shoveling snow to being able to keep up with my kids. And all the fun things, like snow showing, hiking in AZ, and of course pregnancy!
6. What is your favorite class or movement/skill? What is your least favorite movement?
I love any workout that gives you the ability to overcome your own fears, like Annie, Nancy, or Murph. I really enjoy all the classes at FitHAUS and there are options for every body, no matter how fit you are. From working on small and important movements with Amanda to having fun with Julie, and everyone in between! My least favorite movements are definitely thrusters and burpee combos, or wall balls!
7. What advice would you give to someone looking to join FitHAUS?
I would invite anyone to join, it’s your refuge from life for a short time, and everyone is so welcoming and inclusive!
