FitHAUS Featured Athlete ... Angela Schliinz

This week's Friday's featured athlete is Angela Schliinz! Angela has been coming to FitHAUS (and before that, True Champion CF) for over 4 years! She's a model of consistency and hard work! You'll see her most mornings in the 6am HIIT classes and the 6:30am Strength & Conditioning classes! If you've worked out with Angela before, you'll know how hard she pushes herself, and how she always seems to keep going! We wanted to know a little more about Angela, and here's what she had to say:

Q: Tell us a little about you (that we might not know)?

AS: I have lived in Orono for the past 5 years.  My husband Brandon grew up in Orono and was always determined to get back here. I also grew up locally, in Chanhassen and went to Chaska high school and then attended UND for college.  We have 2 children.  Blake is in 7th grade and Reese is in 1st grade.  We stay very active with all of the kids sports.  Most of our weekends include Basketball or Baseball tournaments.  My husband is an avid biker and loves to participate in races in his free time.  Sometimes he even talks me into doing some races with him.  I have been in the car business for most of my adult life and recently partnered with a company that provides auto dealerships and other business with call center and lead management services.  I also have a side business called Warrior Muffs that my best friend and I started last winter.  We give back 10% to women in need in MN and it has been very rewarding to give back to other's in need-while enjoying time with my best friend.  

Q: What made you decide to try FitHAUS (and what were you doing prior to coming in?

AS: Prior to FitHaus I was working out at a large gym as well as at home.  I drove past FitHaus for a few months before finally calling and starting classes. I started with CrossFit for the first few years and have now moved over to the Haus classes (HIIT and S&C) primarily.

Q: What is your favorite part of FitHAUS?

AS: I love the accountability that I feel with the FitHAUS as well as the coaches and friends that I have made.

Q: What are some of the fitness-related accomplishments you're most proud of, and what are your goals going forward?

AS: I am proud of my consistency and dedication to fitness as well as taking this time to focus on myself. With the constant running of kids and work this is what keeps me sane!

Q: How has working out at FitHAUS bettered your life outside the gym?

AS: Well ... in addition to keeping me sane, it has made me stronger, faster and more equipped to take on any activity or physical challenge. Even just a serious basketball game in the driveway with my family or a challenging bike ride.  I am always up for a mental and physical challenge.

Q: What advice you you give to someone considering joining FitHAUS?

AS: Just do it!  You will be happy you did.  There are so many options and levels at the FItHAUS that I honestly feel like there is something for everyone.

Q: What is your favorite class and what are your favorite movements (and least favorite movements)?

AS: I really like all the classes but my favorite is 6:30am Strength and Conditioning.  I like the lifting and intense cardio at the end.  My least favorite movement is burpees and my favorite is Wall Balls:)
